I am a mother

Raising my children and working with clay in Elgin, TX. My current body of work is an exploration of ceramic baskets in response to my experience of mothering and all that it encompasses - and how it has completely encompassed me - especially during a time of such civil unrest.

I am a sculptor at heart, with a BFA from UT Austin where I did metal casting and mixed media sculpture. Clay is my chosen medium as it has been part of my life in some aspect since I was a child. Now, my studio practice with clay is an integral part of my life and offers me a life force to cling to outside of motherhood, another sense of purpose beside the home.
